About VHM inserts
The insert is the replaceable combustion chamber inside the VHM cylinder head. By swapping inserts you quickly change the compression – just loosen the head, take it off and change the insert.
Rule of thumb (starting from the VHM standard insert):
As with everything on a two-stroke there is a limit and there are exceptions, so treat this as a guideline, not an exact rule.
TM125 – mind the spark plug: these engines use either a thin M10 or a thick M14 plug. The plug volume does not count toward the compression ratio, but it does count when measuring the cc on the engine. Example: AE32367-G (10.80, M10) is low compression, while AE32367-K (11.00, M14) is high compression. In fact AE32367-G (10.80) has the same compression ratio as AE32367-P (12.00) – only a different plug. So check which plug your head/insert uses.
